Makers Guild Meeting at the Air Zoo

  • January 19, 2013 · 4:00 PM

Makers! RepRapers! All are welcome!  We're not meeting in the main Air Zoo building this time.

UPDATED DIRECTIONS

The address is 3101 E. Milham, Kalamazoo, MI.  Take Portage exit South off of I-94 and watch for Milham. Turn left on Milham, (East - towards the airport) and go to the end of the street.  Parking in the fenced lot.

If you miss Milham, just turn in at the Air Zoo sign and go left at the stop sign.  That will take you back to Milham via the North parking lot exit.  Turn right and go to the end.  Can't miss it.

I hope to be able to make it. We did not have a lot of time last meeting to set up and play with the brainwave analyzer controller/interface, and I think we may still have some skeptics. I can bring it back and we can set it up again if there is interest.

Really looking forward to this meeting since I had to skip the last one. I'm excited to see the Rostock. I'll be bringing, though not necessarily demonstrating the pocket laser engraver, 3D scanner and Desmonda the RepRap, now with upgrades.

Natalie and I will be back with the Rostock, made one slight improvement since last time, but still not quite working. I'd love some help figuring out the code.

Steve, Too bad you can't make it! I'm bringing up some rostock MAX's. You can always come down and take em for a test drive at our shop, we're just down in Goshen!

I plan to be at the Air Zoo on Saturday. Here is the Arduino-Project I am currently working on: http://christophhartel.com/wire...

I should be able to bring the pan tilt head and the controller with me. The problem I am facing is that the libraries and protocols used in this project don't seem to work together. May be some one has an idea.

If I can get it running again (been out of commission for 2 weeks now) I'll do a demo of my Replicator 2.

Finally got it running this past weekend so I will definitely be bringing it (unless I break it again...)

I promised some videos of my CNC router from the last one, so here are two links to my Dropbox archive. Sorry about the sound- I'm a lousy video editor and I'd rather be playing with the machine in my spare time instead of messing around with movie files :-D

The first one is cutting out christmas tree ornaments- I made two sheets of 16 ornaments for a class project at my son's daycare. The stock material is hobby store 3/16" plywood, cut into a 2' x 2' square. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1otgw2...

Second one is cutting out parts for a dinosaur 3D puzzle like the one I brought to the last meetup. Stock material is 1/4" birch plywood, again a 2x2' square.

I'll see if I can find any other vids that might be more exciting...

Gotta skip this one, it's my wife's birthday. But all the last month I've been fighting the urge to buy a Rostock.

Perfect timing! I saw that the MendelMax 2.0 was announced yesterday. I'm pretty excited to discuss it with others.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
