I would like to learn and develop the habits to eat at least 70% raw foods, because I would like to get rid of some aches and pains, become fit and have a lot more energy.
I am a happily married mother of two daughters, ages 8 and 14, whom I homeschool. I also have two grown step-daughters and one step grandson. I love the outdoors...gardening, hiking, swimming etc, especially in the spring and fall, when it's not sooo hot. I have been interested in health most of my life, but still not very healthy.
I believe that by eating raw foods a person can feel younger, more energetic, get rid of aches and pains, and prevent a ton of diseases. It is really a new way of life, and I'm very excited about it. I have been drinking green smoothies for breakfast for about a year. Now I am working on getting more raw salads into my family's diet. I have started some juicing, and my daughter loves frozen fruit sorbet. I am doing a little bit of sprouting, and want to start Dehydrating. I'm not pushing myself to do it all at once, but want to gradually work in, and develop new habits that will stick. I have been to a couple of Chad Turner's raw potluck's, where I have learned a ton. I've also read Annette Larkin's pamphlet, and am reading Live Raw, by Mimi Kirk, and gradually trying a few recipes. I am also listening to Green Smoothie Girl's "12 Steps to Whole Foods", and am excited to go to her seminar when she comes to Milwaukee next week.
