This race is SOLDOUT......Come join us for the LVGP 500 on Daytona Sunday before the race.  We will have a 500 lap race of our own and then watch the Daytona 500 on the big screen afterwards.  Wheel to Wheel Karting & ECKER Members team entry fee will be $380 (5% off the the posted $400 team entry fee).  There will be both Pro and Novice classes in the race depending upon your experience level.  A three man team is $127 per person.

You can form your own team or we can put you together with some other racers.  It will be a great start to a fun season of racing.  The field is limited to 14 teams and is on a first deposit paid ($200 per team), first served basis.  The balance can be paid prior to the race start.

Click on the Leigh Valley Grand Prix hyperlink in our sponsor's area, for more details on this race.  You must register on both by calling LVGP [masked], 610-432-RACE)) and use registration code: 'Wheel to Wheel Karting', and also register on this site.  We will need to validate with them to secure your 5% discount.

This track will be the site of the LVGP12 (12 Hour Race) on Sunday March 18th, St. Patrick's Day weekend.  This will be a good chance to get used to the track.  I will have more details on this race shortly.

I hope to see you at this race.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Here are the Race rules and info:

Date : Feb 26th 2012

Time: Drivers meeting  7:45am
                Green Flag:     8:30am

(includes one drink ticket for each driver for after the race)

Objective: First team to complete 500 laps wins the race.

Teams: Teams of 1-5 drivers.

Min/Max driver time: There is no minimum or maximum drive time for any driver.

Kart Assignment: Karts will be randomly drawn before the race in the drivers meeting.

Mandatory Stops:  In the race each team will have to make at least 8 stops in the race. Stops are either a stop and go (5 seconds) in the pits or a driver exchange.

Kart Swap:  In the race each team will have to make at least 1 kart swap in the race, kart swap does NOT count as one of the teams 8 stops. In a kart swap under green flag conditions, each team will pull into the back of kart exchange row,  get in the first kart in the row, buckle up and get back to racing.  (Karts will run approximately 3 hours long on a tank of fuel)

Starting order: The starting order will be determined by a 5 min qualifier. The first driver for each team will go out in the 5 mins qualifier. After the 5 mins is up, the race officials will line the karts up on the track and then start the race from there.

Start: The start of the race will be under yellow. The field will go around the track single file in positions with no passing. We will have a pace car to pace the field. As the pace car peels off the race track into the pits the green flag will wave.

Yellow flag:  If the yellow flag comes out it is because there is a kart stuck somewhere on the track, and a track worker must go onto the track to correct the issue. If the yellow flag is waved, everyone on the track must go half speed, the goal is to slow down for the safety of the track worker and not gain any distance on the car behind you or catch up to the kart in front of you. (Under any circumstance you may not pit under yellow)

Red Flag: If the red flag comes out STOP as quickly and as safely as possible. When going back to green it will be a stand still start, the lights will go from red to green and the race will resume.  (Under any circumstance you may not pit under red)

Black Flag:  NO BUMPING. The bumping in this race will be enforced heavily. Any contact seen by race officials will warrant a black flag. If you are black flagged you will pull into the pits for a stop and go penalty.

White flag:  Indicates there is one lap to go in the race.

Checkered flag: Indicates the end of the race. Race through the checkered flag till the yellow lights come on.
