This is the Triangle's oldest meetup for people who are passionate about paddling. Paddling is what we are all about. Though the name says flatwater, you can expect all types of paddling to be enjoyed by this group: coastal, flatwater rivers or lakes, or class I/II rivers. We love to have fun, so come out and join us.
All participants in Kayak Flatwater Meetup trips do so as common adventurers. All participants take the responsibility for making their own decisions including, but not limited to, whether to participate on any particular water body or section, what equipment they use, the routes they may choose to paddle, whether their skill levels and abilities are appropriate for the activity or whether climate and water conditions are appropriate for their participation.
Trips are posted by organizers. Impromptu trips may be posted on the message board by any member. Trip descriptions should set realistic expectations regarding requirements for a safe and fun paddle.
Properly supervised children are allowed on paddle trips. A recognizable profile photo is required to identify you at events. Every member that paddles with this group will be required to wear a PFD properly fitted.
