Hey Everyone –
Have you ever wanted to take that plunge into learning to whitewater kayak?
I wanted to let you all know that there are still two spots open for a 2-day introduction to whitewater kayaking August 18 & 19.
So what does one cover in a whitewater kayaking class?
The first day will cover many topics on a lake:
• Reviewing whitewater kayaking gear
• Kayaking safety
• Using paddle strokes
• Controlling the edge (or tilt) of the boat
• Rolling the kayak
The second day will cover many topics on an easy class II river:
• Paddling the river safely
• Identifying river features
• Reading river features
• Paddling the boat in current
• Using your edges to catch eddies, ferries, etc.
• Rolling your kayak in current
This class is designed to give you the foundation to safely and successfully run class II whitewater. From here, you could quickly be out there running class III or more.
Class size is limited to 5 people for individualized attention. You do not need any gear, as all gear can be provided for you with a total cost of $250. If you have your own whitewater kayaking gear, there is a $75 discount.
The class is taught by an ACA certified whitewater kayak instructor who has worked with many students teaching on class III+ rapids.
If you would like to sign up, please sign up first on the Meetup page. Then email me at [address removed] or by phone [masked]). I like to speak to all the students before the class begins.

Thanks and I hope to see you on the river,
