I am sorry I couldn't join you. It looks like you had good weather, and good water. So what is up for the coming weekend. I do not have anything booked so far.

I trust you guys. I just remember how my kayak turned around last time and I went down backwards. Remember that? Wouldn't want to do that again.

    April 26, 2013

    • Linda D

Lol. Going backwards isn't so bad, it's sideways that is bad. Mike is really pushing for cross creek. I will keep you updated.

Glad that you guys are looking at the flow of water for this trip - as always. I haven't done a river in years and would appreciate a Level I no matter where it is. Will be nice to see you. Looking to mosey down instead of stress about the swiftness or worry about rocks. Mostly I just go out on lakes after working all day, so I'm looking forward to this one. AND, if you deem it too fast or too cold, I'm okay with canceling, too. My goal is to do more river trips this year, since I'm finally moved into my new/old little house and more settled. Thanks, guys.

Hi Arlene, most of these small spring time creeks have some degree of a challenge. Mike wanted to go to cross creek which is very challenging in one spot in particular but you can bypass it. However, we will probably opt for s fork of ten mile. This is pretty and stress free. Checking levels today and will let you know for sure.

Wheeling Creek is four tenths of a foot higher then what I sat as a minimum for enjoyable kayaking. I would think Cross Creek, or Buffalo Creek would be about the same. Even though I will not be joining you, I thought you would like the info.

Are the majority of your excursions in Fayette County? Are there any activities planned for the Loyalhanna Creek or Conemaugh River?

    April 24, 2013

    • Gerry

I'm really not sure how much my canoe weights but it feels like 150, I'll weigh it over the weekend just for my own knowledge. I'm hoping to get out to Conemaugh maybe Sunday and hoping to get on the water next month also. What's the attraction of Clarksville? You all live in that area?

      April 25, 2013

    • Linda D

Nope. Clarksville is just a take out where 2 creeks meet and its an easy shuttle. Not sure if we are going there yet this Sat. We like to kayak the smallest waters we can this time of year. We save the rivers for later in the year when there is no water in these places

Sorry, but I will not be able to go. I have commitments for Saturday which I shouldn't back out. I have no plans for next weekend as yet. I am going to Ricketts Glen, PA for the weekend of May 17th. Have you done any paddling there, or care to join us?

    April 24, 2013

  • Linda D

Sorry Ben, Sat works better for us. Not sure of location until we know better of the water levels.

I have plans already. maybe next time.

I'd love to do 10 mile but gotta double check with my Hubby fist

Oh man! Sunday would be better for Isabella and I. We are both scheduled to be at a camping-hiking Meetup at Coopers Rock. I am not sure we can make the change to Saturday? Cross Creek would be out because it is so far from Coopers Rock. Any chance of a change?
