I'm doing a paddle on the Kiski River on Saturday and Sunday. You can sign up for one or both days. The Kiski is a slow moving class I river, with a couple of spots of mild class II "fun foam". This will be a 12 mile paddle. We'll meet at my place no later thqn 9:30am on both days. We'll set up a shuttle to Saltsburg, and put in. We'll paddle 4 miles to Avonmore, and do lunch. There is a pavilion and porta potty there. We'll then paddle another 4 miles to Copper Head Cove, and take a swim break. Then we'll paddle the last 4 miles to my place, and take out. After the paddle, I'll ask for volinteers to take the drivers back to Saltsburg to retrieve their vehicles. After the boats are cleaned, I'll fire up the grill and make burgers for the group. You're welcome to bring something to share if you like. After dinner, I'll build a fire in the small pit along the river. Please bring a chair to sit on around the fire. Everyone is welcome to camp along the river on Saturday night. The shower upstairs in the garage is available for anyone who wants to freshen up after the paddle. Please bring you're own towels and personal items. For those who are camping, we can do breakfast at the Creekside Restaurant across the river from Apollo on Sunday morning.
I have a limited number of yaks available for use. I only ask that you help clean and stow them afte the paddle.
When signing up, plese let me know:
1. If you have you're own yak, or if you need to use one of mine.
2. What day(s) you will be paddling.
3. If you will be camping.
PLEASE NOTE" When respinging to me about a yak, please do NOT hide you're e-mail address so I can respond directly back to you to verify if you have a yak.
