I have a 14' Necky that has been in many jams, dragged and portaged over many rocks, had holes galore drilled in it for all variety of gizmo and gadget at one time or another, with a big dent in the hull. But it still floats.
90% of the time I paddle Lake Arthur, putting in at McDanel's Landing. I also like Peter's Lake, Cross Creek Lake and the inner ponds at Presque Isle. Other favorite kayaking spots are the mangrove swamps in the InterCoastal Waterways, Manatee Springs, Rainbow Springs, and several other central/Gulf area Florida rivers.
I do a lot of day trips during the week.
Caving was the most time-consuming, until recently. Hiking (usually North Country Trail or thereabouts), biking (usually rail-trails: Montour, Butler-Freeport, Panhandle, Stavich, etc.), nature photography, fishing (not too seriously), astronomy, and dog-walking.
I live in the Brookline section of Pittsburgh, but spend a lot of time in the Butler area - especially Moraine State Park - kayaking, fishing, hiking, etc. My crazy work schedule allows me a lot of time to enjoy the outdoors
