Hello, Mr. g,

I would come along with you guys but I already paid for a dinner theater mystery play that day.
Haven't seen you in a long time.  Was at the Renesaunce Festival today in Mt. Pleasant.  You would
like the Washing Wenches Show.  Great time there.  Check it out.

Announcing a new Meetup for Pittsburgh Kayakers (ka-"yack"-ers)!

What: Sunset Paddle, Peters Lake Park (suitable for beginners)

When: Sunday, September 12,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Peters Lake Park
Center Church Rd.
McMurray, PA 15317

Where: Peters Lake Park, Center Church Rd., which is
off East McMurray Rd., which is Off Rte 19, Peters
twp, which is below South Hills Village.

South on Rte 19, turn left on East McMurray rd., turn
right on Center Church Rd., bear right at Y, and pass
church, and go to bottom of hill to dead end at the
lake. Boat dock is right there.

This is one of our favorite places to go for a evening paddle. This will be a short paddle of about an hour but it is a very peaceful and tranquil way to end the weekend. This would be suitable for beginner paddlers who want to practice their strokes or learn some new techniques ,such as turning, or even safely getting into and out of your kayak, or entering or exiting the water. It is a small lake and we plan to paddle to the right of the dock if you arrive late. If you wish to stay longer and paddle more, you are welcome. The park is open to dusk.. Senora has school the next day, so we need to get loaded up and back home before too late.

Details: This would be classified as a easy flat water
paddle, on a lake that is surrounded by woods, so less
wind and no waves..No Motors allowed. There is a nice boat ramp here also.
Would be good for a beginner, or someone that wants to just get out and do
an easy paddle and enjoy the last days of summer.

Paddling instruction and boat
safety will be available.

What to bring: . Always bring a spare set of dry clothes
and towel, just in case! . This is a smaller lake that is
shallow in most places, but by the dam it does get deeper
Bring water, and a PFD is required.
There is also bass fishing in this lake.

There are a few small coves to explore where there are usually sightings of birds, and usually can spot bass in the shallow waters. Please be early enough that you can be in the water by 6:30.

sorry, no rentals available. there is a very nice hiking trail around the lake if you bring a guest who does not paddle
