Since I live in Ellwood City it was suggested to me that the upper Beaver River would be a good solo kayak paddle: putting in at the rt.18/rt.108 bridge below New Caslte and taking out at Rock Point near Ellwood.  That's almost 11 miles and an elevation drop of only 30 feet over that 11 miles.  Right now the water is super high but when it goes down I'm thinking of droppping off my bike at Rock point, putting in near New Castle and then riding my bike back to get my truck afterwards.  It looks like there are no real rapids...just some class one ripples in a few places.

Anyone ever do that section of the river?  Anyone have interest in paddling it once the water level drops a bit?
