The Loyalhanna Creek drops 915 feet or so from its source in the Laurel Highlands, just north of the PA Turnpike, to its confluence with the Conemaugh River in Saltsburg, PA, a meandering distance of around 45 creek miles, a 20.3 ft drop per mile average over the entire length. The Loyalhanna Creek watershed is entirely within Westmoreland County, sourcing close to Fayette and Somerset Counties to the south and east, ending at Saltsburg, Indiana County to the north.
