Last year, the EPA finalized strong fertilizer, sewage and animal manure pollution limits for Florida to protect our iconic lakes, rivers, springs, and bays.
But now Florida's victory for clean water is being threatened by the state agency meant to protect it.
Since 1998, the Clean Water Act has required that Florida have strong pollution limits, but the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) bowed to polluter pressure over and over again, requiring the EPA to step in. Now the FDEP want to weaken the EPA rules designed to keep our waters safe and clean.
Tell the FDEP that should be enforcing the protections for our water and environment put in place by the EPA, not undermining them.
FDEP has decided to develop its own faux pollution standards to replace the EPA rule. The proposed FDEP rule puts our waterways at more risk than ever!
Big Polluters hate the new EPA rule, but they love the FDEP.
If we don't push FDEP to drop its weak rule, Big Florida Polluters will get what they want: a free pass to use our waterways as garbage dumps.
Please add your name to the list of Floridians who will not sit idly by while FDEP dumbs down our new pollution limits.
Thanks for taking action to protect our waterways.
P.S. After you take action, be sure to forward this alert
