Sounds more like certain members than anything .... Anyway, too much drama.

I've had manatees in the Banana River push our kayaks, chase us, and lift us out of the water. They think it's all good fun despite the yelps.

Yes Mike, and in the exact place, Haulover Canal.  My friend and I went out not too long ago and they attacked her ... in a nice way.  She wanted the experience so it wasn't a bad thing and they weren't way too aggressive.  It seemed like they wanted to play.  I the ones there are so use to people, they just don't realize.  I do not think they would...hurt ...anyone but it's always good to be aware.

Well... hopefully this next message is one that won't be deleted...
Has anyone ever had an encounter with a manatee while kayaking?
The other night a friend and I were over at Haulover Canal trying to experience the bioluminescence and we came across a manatee that rammed and capsized me... has this kind of thing ever happened to anyone else?

I think this demonstrates Mike's point pretty well, no?  This is the kind of thing that always happens when a mail list is used for other than it's intended purpose.....seen it a hundred times.  Sure, send a useful link that other's might be interested in but the politics belong somewhere else.  And yet one more to delete.  Bill
