Hey guys! I've got a friend interested in joining me but only one kayak. We're planning to camp across the lake or on the island, anyone got a suggestion for an overnight kayak rental? Or does that even exist? Thanks!!

Take exit 83 from I 25 to Highway 195 to the park entrance. After the entrance take Ridge Road from the roundabout, continue past where the pavement ends to the end of the road we are camped there. Look for the sailboats and kayaks. As of today (wed.) there are 2 sailboats, 3 Kayaks, and 2 RVs there.

I've never been to bElephant Butte before. Where exactly do we meet at 10 am on Saturday. I'll be kayaking, not sailing, but don't know anyone in the group or the area. Thanks!

Take exit 83 from I 25 to Highway 195 to the park entrance. After the entrance take the road to Marina Del Sur from the roundabout. There will be a parking lot on the right go through the parking lot to the bottom from there you can see a group camping area. We will be to the right of that. We will have our Toyota Huntsman RV with a trailer full of kayaks. These are usually very informal get-togethers where we try out each other's kayaks and sailboats, you can come at any time. We may go for a moonlight paddle ( we still have the glow sticks). Some of us will be camping Thursday or Friday night also. If you get lost or have any the questions please call me at[masked]

Thanks, my kayak will work fine up to about easy class three or so. Probably need a river boat beyond a few ruffles. Was also looking at racing sailboats, maybe lasers. Got to find something to do with the kids off to school starting next year.

These meetups are very informal there are all types of kayaks, sailboats and paddle boards. Most people are willing to let you try there boats. I am 59 years old and will be bringing several kayaks both sit on top and sit in. The last time we met with the sailing group they had 2 short races. The rest of the time we just sailed and kayaked on the lake and tried out each others boats. 5 of us went for a nighttime paddle.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
