This is not run by Madison kayak group, so we will not be taking head count etc. It is an informative post to let others know that Horicon is offering this opportunity. I would suggest if you need questions answered to go to their website and or call ahead. They do rent boats on a first come basis. I will be camping nearby and attending.

Lots of rain but still a good paddle. Lots of pelicans. I think they said 84 people launched. I would be interested to know if anyone rented a kayak and if they had to pay a shuttle fee?

Rental was 20, but shuttle was $23. But you can rent for $20 for a whole day and that is cheap if you just want to head back on your own.

There were 143 people that joined the paddle on Saturday!

This looks to be a great trip and informative too! I'll be launching by 7:30. Definitely plan to make it to a couple of our group outings this year to meet some of you this season.

I cannot find any information regarding this activity on the DNR webpage. Anyone have a link? Is this an out and back paddle or is a shuttle needed? Thanks in advance. I'm from a Chicago south suburb and I'm not familiar with this area.

It's on Horicon Marsh site. You put in at Greenhead in Mayville and take out in Horicon just before the Rock River Tap and Grill. There is a landing and parking lot to set your shuttle. Many of us had them all set up before 7:30 am. Feel free to call if you get lost. [masked]

I helped the Friends of the Horicon Marsh last year and it was a great success! If you're lucky enough to spot one of the pelicans out on your trip they will take your breath away!! Awesome trip and well organized!! Come enjoy w/us again.
