Scouting The Lower Yahara River - From about Hwy51 to Lake Kegonza

We are scouting the lower Yahara River from approximately HWY51 to Lake Kegonza. This trip should take between 2-3 hours. We are meeting at the Jaeger road launch point at 8:00am. From there we will drop off the kayaks and then drive the vehicles to the pick up point on Fish Camp Road. This is a very scenic area and you will enjoy it. If you cannot make the 8:00am start time...you will just have to catch up, as we are not waiting for you. Bring food, water, bug spray, sun screen, etc. The launch is a grassy bank and is easy to find.

Please note: On Google Maps the street is named Jaeger St., But the system will only accept Yaeger St.

Weather was great slightly over cast so the sun was hidden. There was no algae out yet and the water was as smooth as glass. Had a good turn out of people and the route is absolutely beautiful ( bring a camera if you have one) The river helps push you along a bit so a vary easy paddle.

Weather for Monday morning should be good. Only 30% chance of rain. Maybe a thunderstorm. The weather map will show if a thunderstorm is going through Madison. It will have the information by 6:00am for the next four hours. I'll post a cancellation notice @ 7:00am if a thunderstorm is forecasted. Right now the weather does not look nasty.
