Overnight Suwannee River Paddle and Wanee Musicfest

April 19  Friday: 8:30 AM  Meet at I-10 Exit 283 Live Oak/Jasper

Convoy to Canoe Outpost located within the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park.  We'll leave our cars there and be shuttled by the Canoe Outpost to Hwy 41 bridge Suwannee River Wayside Park Ramp .

Paddle 13.7 miles to Woods Ferry River Camp.  We have 2 screened cabins reserved.  Each cabin sleeps 6.    You're welcome to bring a tent if you prefer.  The screened cabins have electricity and ceiling fans.  Cabin sites have picnic tables and fire rings.  The restrooms have hot showers.

April 20 Saturday: 9:30 AM break camp and launch.

Paddle 9.5 Miles to Spirit of Suwannee Music Park.  The park is having their annual Wanee Musicfest with multiple bands and stages.  Tower of Power plays from 5:15 - 6:30 on the small stage.  Widespread Panic will play the main stage from 6:30 - 8:30 and The Allman Brothers Band will play the main stage from 9:30 - 12:00 PM.  Paddlers can leave any time but I would suggest pitching a tent and spending the evening in the park.  We can bring food leave it in the car Friday, and we can share a meal together Saturday.  While 4-day Waneefest weekend passes run $150 and up, we are able to"kayak in" and visit, but we just won't be able to get REALLY close to the stages.

$15 per person shuttle fee to be paid in advance.  Refunds will be made only if the trip is cancelled.

I had such an enjoyable time exploring and making new friends and acquaintances from near and far! It's the Spirit of the Suwannee! I hope I get the opportunity to do it again!

This was an amazing first paddle and the music festival was awesome! The camping facilities on the river far exceeded my expectations. Thank you Chris for all the thought and planning you put into this trip.

One of my 3 bailed on us tonight and Sodi RSVP's twice (sorry, there was some confusion when she signed up). So I am down to one vote. I'm all for an overnighter still and I belive Sodi is as well. But, if the weather is bad we are open to whatever the group decides.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
