Kayak at Camp Chowenwaw

We will paddle Peter's Creek, then explore the river in the area around the bridge. This is a short, relaxing easy paddle.

There is a nice picnic area at this site, bring snacks and drinks to enjoy after the paddle while watching the sun set.

This venue does not rent kayaks, you must bring your own or rent from another location and bring to this site.

Hi Camp Chowenwaw Group! I tracked our paddle using My Tracks. Thought you all might like to see what it looked like on Google Maps. Sorry it took me so long to post it! http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=

This was our first paddle w/ the group. Excellent first event. Nice venue, easy launch, nice scenery, great wildlife interactions.

great venue.interesting avoiding capsizing from wake of dare-devil type watercraft but fun. Picturesque scenery on meandering waterways. Great workout but it was hot
    drank several bottles of water!

Great place to kayak. Good put-in and Peter's Creek is quiet and fairly shady. Manatees were a special treat!! Thanks, Ellen.

I think we've just found another favoriate local paddle!!! wonderful - even the manatees that made their pressence known! I am wondering if it was the same one, just waiting for one of us to lift the boat! the osprey flying by with a freshly caught fish, and the turkeys... some people don't realize what abudence of wild life exists here in N. Florida... to them I say - GET OUT and see it! sorry I missed a picture of the manatees though... the baby was soooooo cute!

Looking at google maps, are we meeting at the camp on ball road or across the street at knights marina boat ramp? hard to tell if the camp has water access from gmaps. Maybe it be obvious once there versus birds eye view. thanks.
