Are you interested in becoming a Trip Organizer for the Jacksonville Kayaking Meetup Group?

As many of you have noticed our Meetup group has grown to over 556 members strong, and counting! It's important that we keep our trips safe and enjoyable, but with the increase in members it has been brought to the attention of your organizers that we need more people planning trips, and we need it done in a safe and efficient manner!

The whole reason behind this meetup group is to help connect paddlers! and I have to say our Organizers have done a great job! It's time for our base to grow, and with that we need a few good men and women!

What is the responsibility of the organized leader of the group when you guide the group. Who maintains liability if anyone is hurt?
I have everything except tow rope and paddle float.. Do I still pay the $25.00? I am interested in doing something like this for the St. Augustine Area.. Please get back with me before I can commit. Thanks Kathy

Hey Kathy, since this is not a business, and no one is paid to lead our trips, our Organizers are people who volunteer to plan and lead safe trips for this group. Everyone is responsible for their own well being as well as having their own equipment. Our sponsors offer rentals and discounts to members that need equipment, but that is between the renter and rent-ee. The point of the free organizer training is to help make our trips safer and more efficient for the volunteer organizers. -Joe (the training is free, but if you need to rent equipment that is your responsibility)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
