Bright Pink Spectrum Whippit for whitewater (easy for students to spot). I'm in the market for a fiberglass/composite ocean kayak to replace my beloved Necky which I sold to a friend who begged me to let him take it to Alaska.
I tried to teach myself to roll a kayak when I was 22 by watching a video, and almost drowned. Little did I know the time I spent upsidedown, in the dark, with water up the nose wasn't for nothing. I hired a private instructor who showed me the feel the correct paddle path, and I was rolling 5 minutes later. Since then I became a kayaking instructor for both ocean and whitewater with James Island County Parks in Charleson, SC. I moved to Jacksonville in 2005, but have had limited paddling time from Dr's Lake to Fernadina Beach. I'm joining the group to help correct that problem.
Hey everyone. I'm "V"- an avid outdoorsman and lover of Jacksonville. I've been doing a lot of power boating lately, but am wanting to meet up with some paddlers to do some "slow boating" together.
I'm looking forward to the next trip with them.
