Since I have failed to schedule our regular meeting for this evening, I thought it would be best to not try to have the meeting. Additionally, we have no planned book, program or whatever for the meeting. And for a very limited number of persons (that being probably only me), it does conflict with the Chiefs game tonight.
Instead, what I would propose is that we have our next meeting as usual on the fourth Monday (November 26) and that we discuss what we would like to do in the future - programs and activities. Would we like to change the name of the group to "Good Life Humanists" or something else? Do we want to get involved with charitable activities? Would we like to try to affiliate with American Humanists or the Council for Secular Humanism or both? And, as far as the study group goes, what book or articles would you like to cover? My suggestion is that we read David Niose's "Nonbeliever Nation: The Rise of Secular Americans". I have the book on order and I will pass it around at the meeting and report on as much of it as I have read by then.
Of course, if a bunch of people want to have the meeting this evening, that is okay. Otherwise, we will shoot for Nov. 26 as our next meeting.
