Hey MO & KS peeps alike!

If anyone is interested to meet with Greg Lammers, the newly appointed MO director for American Atheists , please, contact [address removed]. He'll be in KC this Sunday and will have time in the morning (9-a.m.) to meet with us. We'd like to discuss what AA's plans are and what role various local groups all over MO & KC Metro can play to help in keeping the wall of church/state separation strong and high, what we can do to keep them informed about local issues, how to stay informed about state wide and national issues as well as how to be known in the community through public presence, community outreach, etc.

Any member, leaders & Board members of local groups (Metups, Community of Reason, Heartland Humanists) are welcome to attend. Greg is visiting his wife's family here in KC and will be in Johnson County area, so we'll be meeting in Lenexa, KS at Black Dog Coffee' house back room (reserved already for Sunday 9-11 a.m.) and have coffee there with munchies and talk in a nice setting there.

SUNDAY, Feb. 15 at 9 a.m.
Place: Black Dog Coffee House 12815 W. 87th Parkway Lenexa, KS 66215

Formation of a Kansas City chapter of "Americans United for Separation of Church and State"

If you are religious or non religious and interested in keeping the wall of separation between state and church high and strong, please, consider becoming a member of Americans United - check their site out http://www.AU.org

We may have differences of opinion if god is real or not, but we share one goal - freedom of religion as well freedom from religion and keeping government out of private lives and belief systems of people as well as not allowing organized religion to have undue influence on the government due to the Constitutional separation.

We will make decisions on officers, mapping out our geographic area, etc. If you are interested in being an officer, it is very important that you either be there or let me know that you can't make it but that you are interested in a leadership position. Anyone is welcome to attend and participate even if you aren't interested in a board office. We are spread out geographically, so although this meeting is in Lenexa we can do subsequent meetings at other locations.

Sat, Feb. 21 at 5pm
Place: Black Dog Coffee House 12815 W. 87th Parkway Lenexa, KS 66215

Feel free to include this event on the calendars of any organization or church you might belong to and forward it to anyone who you think maybe interested. Thanks!
