I'm a dad, professional software developer, amateur musician, runner, photographer, and mechanic, and auto racing enthusiast.
I began in 1999 as an IT department "student worker" which meant I got to install network cards, help pull network cables, and sweep the floors for $5.15/hr. I demonstrated some basic programming skills, so my boss got me an actual desk and assigned me some tasks. I chose PHP and it's been history in-the-making. I barely made my rent for a couple of years but it all paid off in the end.
I want to some day be able to write software that is unanimously agreed upon as excellent. I would then use that skill to help shape the software industry in a way which allows everyone to produce the same level of quality. I always want to learn more. I like to talk with other professionals, read books, and then always test the things I've learned for myself.
I'm a developer & crypto junkie turned appsec consultant and a KCPUG regular.
This is a very cool group of people.
