Announcing KC Freelancers

Hey, everyone. Wes gave me permission to post this.

I'm starting a new group for developers, designers, and dev-operators who freelance in Kansas City. It's not an easy thing to be an independent: development, creativity, law, accounting, HR, marketing, sales, and more all rest solely on our shoulders alone. But wouldn't it be nice to have a group of people you can meet with to share your experiences, ask questions, and let's face it, to find more work? That's what this new group is about.

The group will meet on the third Thursdays of each month beginning in September. To begin, we'll be meeting at the Kauffman Foundation near the plaza. They are interested in helping the group out for at least the first couple of months, and they believe there are numerous ways our groups can benefit from one another.

There are no requirements to be a part of the group, other than a willingness to share from your experiences, and ask questions.

Although I'll be posting things to Twitter and my blog, you can also find out what's currently going on on the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/kansas-city-freelancers

I really look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks,
Samuel
