Making of America Seminar

Holiday Inn (map)

Selected By: eric wilson

"The Making of America" Seminar is designed for anyone who knows something is terribly amiss in America, and wants to help, but is feeling unarmed with facts, and with history. This is our opportunity to join together in the spirit of learning. The only real way we can facilitate long lasting change is to arm ourselves with knowledge!

Join us as we spend the day with a very special "The Making of America" Seminar based on the 5000 Year Leap. Presented by NCCS and developed by master teacher Dr. W. Cleon Skousen.

Saturday, July 17 8:00am – 4:00pm
Holiday Inn Georgetown
140 Osborne Way, Georgetown, KY (Behind Walmart)
Cost $30.00 Includes day long Seminar, 135 page study guide

We must remember who we are, we will be the key… Understand where we came from. Understand where we went wrong. Understand where the fork in the road was, and which path we should have taken. This is the event that will change your grasp of history, and help you communicate to others what the map looks like that will change our course.

This is a day long event that will change your perspective and possible life. The cost is only $30.00 a person which includes seminar with a special guest teacher from the NCCS, 135 page fill-in-the-blank study guides developed by the author and master teacher of the 5000 Year Leap, lively discussions and interaction with the instructor, and unbelievable day of education on the constitution. (THIS SEMINAR COST DOES NOT INCLUDE LUNCH)

You will become "armed" with the kind of education that will prove valuable to you as you continue on your quest with us to go out and restore this country to what our forefathers created. This seminar is especially well suited for teachers with complete curriculum they can take back to their classrooms.

Thank you for joining us as we discover the Founders' original success formula for freedom.

I didn't realize that we were to sit in silence! I learned alot, but I am sorry that my excitement to be in the seminar was a distraction for others. It won't happen again!

As someone who attended and greatly enjoyed the seminar, I am sorry to hear that some folks came away disappointed. I thought the instructor did an admirable job of controlling a very passionate room of patriots with lots on their minds. It is hard to expect people desiring to learn more about our Constitution enough to devote their entire Saturday to not have comments and questions about the interpretation of the document in relation to current events.

For those that desired a greater depth of information or just want to continue the learning process, I STRONGLY encourage you to check out our Freedom ~ Liberty Conference in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky on Friday and Saturday, October 1st and 2nd. We will have educational sessions presented by groups like FreedomWorks, NCCS, and many, many others. You did not hear it from me, but rumor has it the keynote speaker will be Brent Bozell of Media Research Center fame, so you will not want to miss it!

    Hello,

This is Randy McNeely, the instructor for the seminar. I want to thank you for your candid feedback here.

I want now, to sincerely apologize to all who came to the conference and came away disappointed. Your criticisms are just. I wasn't nearly as prepared as I should have been. I let both you and NCCS down and I don't blame any of you for feeling upset. It was a learning experience for me, and I can guarantee you, it won't be wasted.

Again I apologize. I can't afford to give everyone a refund. If I could, I would. I would like a chance to redeem myself, however and I've sent an email to Jennifer Weyland with and idea as to how. Once she's thought about it and given me her thoughts, if she likes the idea, we'll present it here.

Again, I humbly apologize and sincerely ask for your forgiveness. I guarantee you that if I ever come back there again to teach, I will be much better prepared and the learning experience much better.

I thought this meeting was worth the small fee charged and no refund is necessary. Remember, the instructor is a volunteer and doing the best he could at the time. If others feel it was not adequate, they are looking for new instructors to volunteer. We also had read the book and that helped. However, we do wish more discussion was about the book and not personal issues. As to political speeches, that was not the place for them and the instructor handled it well. I am glad I attended.

I could have used a year of Saturday classes to cover all I like to have learned. But, we only had one day. What was presented gave an idea of were to go next. I think it was a good value.

This was a great learning opportunity for me. I agree with most of what the other attendees have already posted. There were some issues (i.e. comments/discussions, computer/projector/sound equipment, hallway music, material delivery, room temperature, moon phase, etc.) None of which, however, prevented me from learning. Thank you.

My husband, Jim took this course and was so excited that I would have the same opportunity! I expected more than the seminar delivered. I believe the instructor was inexperienced and needs more study and direction on delivering the teaching. He was hard to follow, skipped around without telling the audience where he was, told personal stories and allowed too many personal comments during the class. About one hour into the course, there were comments about not being able to hear, so he tried setting up a microphone and was successful during lunch break; however, when he used the mic, most of the time it was held at waist level, so we still did not hear in the back. The powerpoint presentation was too small to see, so I was not able to follow where to insert the words for the blanks. I got lost 3 times and arrived late, so I probably missed some initial instruction. I came away disappointed.

The Making of America Seminar was very enlightening. I learned that some of the things I thought I knew were just a little off, and I certainly learned ALOT! We should have them more often. It was, in a word, AWESOME! Thanks!

Material was good, presentation was weak....Speaker should have been there early enough to get equiptment up and running properly. Time was wasted.

This seminar was a disappointment for a paid event. The attendees seemed more interested in making their thoughts on current events and political views known than learning about the U.S. Constitution. This subject deserves serious study and thought and not frivolity, comments and discussion that could be easily accommodated at any Tea Party rally, 9/12 meeting or an informal gathering. I guess we were just a captive audience to many attendees. The advertisement stated: "The Making of America" Seminar is designed for anyone who knows something is terribly amiss in America, and wants to help, but is feeling unarmed with facts, and with history. This is our opportunity to join together in the spirit of learning. The only real way we can facilitate long lasting change is to arm ourselves with knowledge! The spirit of learning was not present in this case.
