KPLUG Monthly Meeting

Peter Blajev is going to share his experience supporting ZFS storage servers and configuring asynchronous replication between them.

Peter Blajev will give a brief overview of the ZFS features, distributions supporting ZFS and how to select hardware and vendors. He will demonstrate how to create a zpool and what should be considered when creating zpools in terms of speed, reliability and compliance with best practices. Peter will create test ZFS file systems that he'll use to show NFS exports, managing snapshots and replication.

Peter Blajev has been working in terminal sessions for long enough that his 2 yr. old daughter feels comfortable teaching him how to use the mouse. She already gave up on teaching Peter how to use the iPad. On days when he isn't the one turning off the lights and locking the office for the day, Peter likes to drag his family out in the wilderness and try to convince them it's more fun then "Two And A Half Men".
