Help the less fortunate & some are even Homeless

We will once again go out and help the homeless..... We had agreed to meet at the same place.... 14th and K st in Washington, DC.

I would like to believe we had a great time last month and hope this time we have an even better turn out.

It was unreal how the people really wanted clothing. Some could have cared less that we had food, the clothing table was their main focus. So I have been rounding up clothing and doing laundry so that it would be clean. Used, but clean. I have asked my co-workers to donate things as well. Remember, we can use anything you are not wearing or using anymore. Backpacks were requested the most.

I talked with a few of the homeless people and they really need soap, lotion, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash and other things we sometimes take for granted. I made a few of these "travel" packages and bought a few already made. Remember, the dollar store can be someone's best friend.

I want to also thank everyone who has help before. Thank you for donating your time and clothing. Thank you for taking time out of your busy life to help someone less fortunate than you. We are all blessed to be helping our fellow man.

Hope to see you there!

Crash on 495 caused shutdown. Had to manipulate my way through DC during warm weather crowds and traffic. 2.5 hours of riding! I'm sure there was good representation from KU to help folks in need. Got there as things were wrapping up, but enjoyed my peeps as always.

Oh how cute Tammy... you made me the event host without even asking! You should be lucky I like you and doing good for the less fortunate... This month I will be focusing on toiletries... Men's clothing is what is needed the most.... I would also say that I was asked for blankets and sheets.... so if you got some you are not using anymore, please be sure to bring them along... if anyone wants to donate, but can't make the day, please let us know... We will be happy to come to you and get your donations... Thanks again to all that came and all that will RSVP to this event....
