Overnight Event: Secret Passage Ranch Adventure #2

Several of you mentioned you would like to return to Secret Passage Ranch.

321 Spring Mountain Way
Fort Valley, VA 22652
Tel. [masked]

Well, Don has invited us back and has a weekend vacancy in November. Yes, this seems soon but Don recommends we come in the fall to enjoy the falling of the leaves, cool temperatures at night and other things I forgot. (smile) He has offered the guest house which accommodates 12+me for $250 and horseback riding will be $20 per hour per person. This is a $5 savings from last Saturday.
He will teach us not only about horses for 1st timers but, survival skills like, how to ignite a flame when the ground is wet/raining. How to eat off the land and more. If you watched the kickstands Up Youtube video posted from Saturday, you will see that Don is very knowledgeable and enjoys sharing what he knows.
If you are interested, you will need to RSVP ASAP. A non refundable deposit of $10 will be required to reserve the guesthouse for one night. If we get at least 10 confirmed riders the cost per person for the guesthouse will be $25 for an overnight stay. If you have an RV or wish to camp outdoors, Don said that is fine as well.
If you have any questions, post them in the comments section for this event.

NOTE: This is not the MARRIOTT (smile) rather, simple maybe tight accommodations for only ONE-NIGHT hmmmm COZY. Not a bad price either...so, here is the layout.

1 double bed

2 bathrooms

1 California king (Don said can sleep 3) LOL We can do it! LOL

4 couches (4 people)

cots as needed.

1st come 1st grab!

TOTAL COSTS

$25 one night accommodation (anywhere on the ranch)

$15 4 meals (Saturday: lunch, dinner; Sunday:Breakfast, lunch)

$20 per hour - Horseback riding. $15 per hour savings. Choose sunrise, daytime or sunset riding. I must know your choice in advance.

RV's and outdoor camping is also permitted ($25). Dina and I will be "camping outdoors". Sleeping in a tent. Hmmmm If I hear howling...make room for me in the guest house please. (smile)

Wondering if the change of our meeting point to Centerville, VA is okay with all? The new meetup place is right off of I-66 at the junction of major routes 28 and 29. So everyone can just hop off and get back on the freeway I-66 instead of having to drive into neighborhoods. And besides it is roughly about 10 miles closer to our destination. Trader Joe's has a huge parking lot in front and signs for I-66 are visible from there. Looking forward to a fun filled weekend :-)

Efendi - I can meet you at Trader Joe's if you like. I can get there at 8am so we make it to the Ranch in time for horse back riding.

In my little mind, linen usually implies bed-sheets, pillowcases and other bedding related items, or am I understanding it incorrectly? So do we need to bring bedding related items, and does that include pillows as well?

Spoke with Don, he said, the horses don't run on electricity nor need oil, so the horses will still be waiting for your arrival. He pulled out the generator too. If the creek floods it will be down by friday.

7:30 am in November? God save the Queen! Brrrrrr.... Is there some kind of a deadline to reach the ranch that early? LOL

I did understand the ride start time to be 7:30 am and that is what I was referring to in my initial comment. Seems like buying heated gear would be the only option to survive a start time of 7:30 am in a month like November. God please do save the Queen.

Some will ride bikes others will drive their car. Whatever your choice of transportation is fine. I'm driving my car as, i will be taking food and other items up there. I too am looking for heated gear (lol)
