At 19,340 feet, Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa and the largest freestanding mountain in the world! ALTHOUGH IT IS A STRENUOUS CLIMB, no special equipment or expertise is needed to ascend Mt. Kilimanjaro because the route allows for a SLOW GRADUAL HIKE.
This group is for those who want to climb Kilimanjaro or go on a safari around Kilimanjaro. This meetup brings together people from around the country, who want to climb Kilimanjaro or see the wildlife in the Kilimanjaro area with those who have already experienced it.

On 15 February 2010 Peter Baxter will be guiding a Lemosho Route summit of Kilimanjaro. This is an exclusive and personally escorted trip by this veteran African mountain guide and author.
