What are your mountaineering goals?

For 2012 I plan to climb St. Helens, Eldorado and Rainier. For rock I plan to climb SEWS, the Tooth, Liberty Bell and Cutthroat. I'd also like to do a relatively straight forward ice climb in the fall, perhaps Observation Rock or Eldorado's East face.

What do you want to learn from your being a part of this group?

I always learn a lot from the students and instructors, and I'm always on the lookout for new friends and climbing partners.

What skills do you have that can contribute?

I can lead glacier ice to about 55 degrees. I lead trad rock to 5.8 and can follow 5.9 (I climb 5.10b in the gym). I am current on MOFA. I've taught navigation for the Seattle branch. I have AIARE level 1 avalanche certification. I also like to road bike, mountain bike and ski. Mostly I back country ski on randonee gear and I'm always interested in partners for that.

What are some of your mountaineering experiences, if you have any?

I've climbed Mt. Baker, Eldorado, St. Helens and Rainier all several times. I've been turned back on Rainier, Adams, Glacier Peak. I climbed an 8 pitch ice climb in Canada called Mt. Matier. On rock I've climbed The Tooth, South Early Winter Spire, Liberty Bell, Cutthroat, Mt. Thompsen, Snow Creak Wall among many others. I'm also a boy scout leader and have had several adventures with my kids. Sucia Island and Shi Shi beach were highlights.

Introduction

I'm a climb leader and have been helping to teach the basic climbing course since 2005. I like to lead a good mix of climbs and will usually lead a couple glaciers and a couple basic rock climbs each year, as well as some intermediate rock and ice.
