What crafts do you do?

Basic sewing by hand, sewing by machine, wire figures with cloth sewn on, knitting (recently finished my ubiquitous first knitted scarf)

What crafts did you give up on as being hopelessly uncool, too expensive or "If I have to make another (whatever) I am going to scream!"

I cross the street and run screaming into the wilderness to avoid the "cool" things in life, and I'm too stubborn to avoid a difficult or complicated project. Money is my biggest barrier.

Optional Questions: (Actually, they are all optional, but don't tell the other members) Age, Orientation, Religion (or lack thereof)?

I'm 35; I like women, but play well with just about anyone; as for everyone else- to each their own, but for me I will find my own spiritual truths.

Have you ever participated in craft shows? Love 'em or hate 'em?

Long long ago, when my sister sold tie-died shirts. I think they're okay, and my clone would love to sell at them while I keep my household running.

Do you have any suggestions for field trips or any suggestions for the group?

A field? Nature is awesome inspiration, and necessity is a wonderful mother of invention. Cross-pollination? I backed into working with cloth and yarn, from wire. Surely other mediums have potential to collaborate.

I'm a stay-at-home parent of 5 in love with tinkering and unconventional innovation; an introverted science-, geek-, gamer-, atheist-, pagan-, kink-, and poly- friendly guy.
