The Los Angeles Knitting Meetup Group Monthly Meetup

Hi stitchers!

Finally, it's sweater weather again! This is a great time to jump back into knitting and actually be able to wear what you make right away. One member this month was very excited that the hat she was making would be useful right away.

Come enjoy the chilly weather with some tea, coffee or cocoa and a tasty treat at le pain and catch up with ongoing members and meet new ones.

Can't wait to see you!

Hope to see you at the next meet-up. PLEASE be very mindful of keeping your RSVP status current. I know many people RSVP months in advance to try to get a spot and I get e-mails all the time from people who want to come and can't get a spot. We have not been having a full show up rate compared to the RSVPs the past few months. Please be considerate of others and change your RSVP to "No" as soon as you know you can't attend.

Enjoy the chilly weather and we'll see you next month!

**Also, I have had to start paying the Meet-up Fee for this group so I will have a little donation jar to cover this cost at the next meeting. Please give what you can... it's not a huge expense, but it does help if we all share it!**

****I am removing the ability to RSVP maybe, because this prevents people who know they want to come from getting a spot. Please check your calendar before RSVPing and make sure to write it down so that everyone who really wants to come is able to. If the list is full, we now do have a waiting list. Thanks!***

Happy crafting,

NEW: I have been getting a lot of nervous requests from brand new knitters who are a bit shy about diving into a full group. IF YOU ARE A NEW KNITTER: please bring yarn and needles to match for a basic scarf. Any yarn store can help you pick- go for a light color and smooth yarn- no crazy fuzzy texture! I have taught people to knit for over 5 years, and am confident that we can get you working away on a beginning project by the time everyone else arrives.

Happy knitting!

sad that only 3 out of 16 RSVPs showed up and this was my first time. Thankfully Caroline (not the organizer) was there and helped us two knitting newbies.
