Knit Together at the Sakura Festival

Let's get out and enjoy the day at The Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Sakura Festival, a weekend celebrating traditional and contemporary Japanese culture. It starts 10 am and runs til 6 pm. Included in the day's events are as follows: Taiko Drumming • Manga • Tea Ceremonies • J-Rock and Pop • Samurai Sword Fighting • Bonsai • Cosplay Fashion Show • Ikebana Flower Arranging • Hands-on Kids’ Workshops • Nihon Buyo Classical Dance • Puzzle Plaza and More!

I'll be there at 11 am. Look for me at the Vintage Kimonos booth at the Magnolia Plaza. Then we can just walk around, take in the sights, participate in some Japanese crafts like origami. We might even have time to sit and knit somewhere.

The complete schedule can be found here.

The festival tickets are 20.00 but it's free for members of BBG. I plan to hold regular meetups here in the warmer months so if you're game, I recommend you guys become a member.
