How did you find out about this group?

I just used the meetup search.

What level is your Korean language currently?

I don't speak or read Korean, but am interested in learning so I don't have to rely totally on subtitles when I'm watching TV shows. I've picked up a few words slowly, so I probably know less than a two year old.

Have you been able to find a lot of local Korean resources? If not, what are you looking for?

I've only begun to search, but haven't found much.

What are you hoping to learn or get from being in this group?

Once I start taking Korean language lessons, I hope to have chances to practice the language, learn about the nuances of speech and culture. Particularly learning formal vs informal manners. And, if I am blessed to visit the country in the future, I want to be comfortable trying to speak and navigate around Seoul and other areas.

Share a favourite Korean related website, food, or other.

I hope to find this out! I'm more familiar with Japanese, Thai and Chinese food. Once of my favorite iPhone apps are WordPower and Essentials which have basic phrases and words. I watch TV dramas using viki.com, hulu.com and netflix.com. I also listen to music on Big B's Radio KPOP channel and KoreaStation on iTunes and through streaming TV.

Introduction

Hi, I'm Crystal a person who has always been interested in learning about other cultures and dreamed of traveling to every continent. I've recently become an avid fan of K-dramas and want to learn more about Korean language and culture.
