Re: [korean-165] English Language Practice for Seungjin - Please ignore.

Hi Nanci,

I just joined the SF bay area korean language meetup. I moved to the bay area from London 5 months ago and am looking to learn korean. In London I was part of a korean-english language meetup similar to the one organized here (it was actually a group at my university UofLondon).

While I am a very beginner at korean, I would be interested in joining your weekly meetups if there is room for entry level speakers. Also I am looking for a class I can take at a community college, in case you know of any.

I apologize in advance if some of my questions might be too basic and not sent to the right forum - I am new to meetups in general and don't know how it all works. Is there a plan to have meetups in the city ? Or are there different "chapters" one for each area of the bay ?

Thanks,
Alok

Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming out last Sunday to the meetup and dinner.

I'd like to do a dinner at my place on Friday, October 2, 2009 to practice English. biggrin Since Seungjin doesn't get to speak English that much during our meetings, I thought it'd be fun if we did a dinner together in English. Our topic will be: American idioms. We'll speak in idiomatic phrases all night. It'll be GREAT!

I'll make the kimchee jigae and you will roll your own kimbab and eat it.

Please let me know if you can make it. I'm thinking about 8pm. When you email me, I'll send you my address. If you are free before 8pm and are hungry, come by early to help prep.

If you'd like to bring something, please bring a seat cushion. .. and a fork, if you don't know how to use chopsticks. biggrin Otherwise, Meredith will tell you what she'd like to drink. wink

-Nanci
