Hi all,

I've scheduled a new Meetup for Tuesday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. Details here:

Bong Joon-ho, director of "The Host" and "Memories of Murder," returns with "Mother," a murder mystery that's earning the South Korean filmmaker comparisons to Hitchcock.

Synopsis: When a rural town's resident simpleton is wrongly imprisoned for a schoolgirl's murder, his mother sets out on a hell-bent mission to find the real killer -- and in the process discovers that the town has more than a few skeletons to hide.

Won Bin ("Taegukgi") and Kim Hye-ja star.

Trailer here:

"An absolutely phenomenal film ..." -- Joe Morgenstern, The Wall Street Journal

"... A superb murder mystery ..." -- Maggie Lee, The Hollywood Reporter

"Another must-see marvel of horror, comedy, and impeccable filmmaking by the Korean director Bong Joon-ho ..." -- Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly

" ... Bong Joon-ho seems to reinvent movie storytelling itself." -- Ty Burr, Boston Globe

Official selection of the Cannes, Toronto and New York film festivals

Given the late hour of the screening, we'll aim for a pre-movie dinner. Details to come!
