ok, let's keep this short & sweet. my name is chrissandra. some of u know me, some of
u don't. i've been reasonably active w/this group since '06. i've enjoyed the meetups and the friends i've made so i didn't want to see this meetup end. i also don't really have the time to organize all the meetups so bottom line two (2) things will change regarding the group:
1) all members will also be organizers. now i can't make everyone co-organizers on the site but if u have an idea post it on the idea page. if u see enough interest in ur idea, organize a complete meetup (date, time, location, etc.) and email to myself or a co-organizer to place on the calender. we will handle the technical end (on meetup site) and u handle the specs (organizing/hosting) of the actual event. i do ask that meetups be submitted in a timely manner. don't send something with less than a week to prepare for (ie, an event for jun or july should be sent now).
2) this group, like all meetups, requires a subscription fee which is paid by the organizer to the meetup site. the group can sustain itself if we start a server fund. this alleviates any strain on the organizer and keeps the group going in the event we are without the same. no dues or sign ups fees but a door charge of sorts for meetup events will now start. all attendees to all events will pay $2.16 at the time u rsvp. the money will go directly into a sever fund account, not to me. these funds are separate from any expenses incurred at an event. if u cannot attend an event after u have rsvp, u may have ur funds refunded or used for a future event. if u rsvp for a meetup and bring a uncounted guest to the event, u must pay the host the door charge for the guest at that time. if u attend but are not satisfied with the event, u will not receive a refund as it is a door charge to cover the costs not a service fee.
well, that's it. no other changes. i'm not particular about the types of meetups made so
long as they are related to korea or korean culture. i don't care if they are cultural or
not. they can be museums, norabangs, restaurants, sports, or day trips so long as
it is within reason and taste. please note that myself/co-organizers will have
final discretion on an event, if needed. if a submitted event is too outlandish/offensive,
it will not be placed on the calender. any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. btw, we'll start new meetups in june so we can get the amazon payments
thx & let's get back to meeting!!!
