After an embarrassing late night scuffle, K-Pop superstar Chung-Ui (Lee Hong-ki) is ordered to complete 300 hours of community service in a hospice for the terminally ill. It all seems like a waste of his time, with smoking, drinking, oddball patients, until Chung-Ui notices the hospice band Phoenix. Even though they could die tomorrow (or perhaps because of it?) they pour their soul into the music. Chung-Ui starts to rediscovers his passion and humanity, but will his selfishness prevent him from completing his true mission at the hospice?

Directed by Nam Taek-soo, Rockin' on Heaven's Door (2013) casts real-life K-Pop star Lee Hong-ki in the lead alongside former MMA trainer Ma Dong-seok. A heartwarming comedy in the great Korean cinema tradition.

In Korean with English subtitles, 99 minutes.

This is one of the more challenging events to actually meet people at. Hope you'll try again at one of our other events. If you go here again, maybe try to coordinate a time and place in the Cultural Center to meet people before or after the movie. Glad you liked the movie.

Thanks for putting out the word. It was a good movie, pretty sad. I heard a few people crying, but it was touching movie. I'll probably go to more movies there. I had no idea that they offer these events. I had a good time.

Make sure to take a at least two big towels. This movie makes you cry non stop. It's a GREAT movie. But again, you will at least need some towels. I needed the towel factory!!!
