Er...beginner. I lived in Korea for over two years, but got by with very standard beginner Korean. I can read Hangeul fine, and know basic verbs and adjectives, but my sentence structure is TERRIBLE and my vocabulary--frankly--embarrassing. For a while, I wasn't bad, but after moving back to the States, my skills deteriorated rapidly.
I was born in South Korea but adopted as an infant. I grew up in an area where there were no native Korean speakers, so I missed out on a lot of Korean culture as a kid. My parents were incredibly supportive about me wanting to live in SK for a few years, and I absolutely loved the experience. I worked at a public middle school in Seoul and lived with my then-boyfriend now-husband. Currently, I work for American Apparel, which is random, since I studied English Literature and had no retail experience. I guess you could say I'm going through my mid-twenties' crisis! Yeesh, no one prepared me for this. I'm into books, music, photography, film, and fashion.
Hi! Since I first moved here two years ago, I've been a complete workaholic and don't have many friends in this state. I'm married to a guy from this area, so while he has a lot of friends, I'm either always working or chilling solo.
