Subject: [la-history] Article in LA Times - 8/2/12
For any members who might be interested in some of the historical architectural features of some of the buildings in the downtown LA area - specifically, interior tiles, and in case you might not have seen it, there is an interesting article in today's LA Times about a historical feature that was recently uncovered in a building on 6th street.

The History of Los Angeles Meetup Group was created for people who are interested in learning & exploring the city's rich history. Yes! Los Angeles does have a full, and complicated history. It should...indigenous people lived in the area for thousands of years before the Los Angeles was founded, and than it existed under the government of 3 different nations, Spain, Mexico, and the U.S. -in fact, all 3 nations are even included in the city's official seal. The Meetups include tours, special events, book discussions, films, lectures, or any other events around town involving the history of L.A. If you do request to join the group, I ask only that you answer the 2 questions, and please post a clear, unobstructed face photo of yourself. This is a social group, and having members know what you look like, helps facilitate that.
