NOTE: This class will meet for 4 Saturdays beginning October 12th and continuing on 10/19, 10/26 and 11/2
As part of the initiative to increase local food production the UC Cooperative Extension and Pasadena Learning Gardens are offering Victory Garden Classes. These classes provide participants with the knowledge to start a home edible garden, and to be part of a community doing the same. The group will meet four Saturday mornings from 9 to 12 p.m. Taught by Master Gardeners Mark Rice and Leonardo Chalupowicz with occasional visits from other local experts, this is a great opportunity to start a great fall garden and / or create the foundation for a great year round garden. Participants receive certificates from the University of California which can be helpful if you're interested in working on edible garden projects.
Our text is available at the first class for $6 (optional), and can be downloaded / previewed from here.
Note: this class is being publicized widely by the county so don't rely on the RSVP number. RSVP at the site and send me an e-mail ([masked]) if you want to attend. I'll ask you to send payment or make other arrangements to reserve your space.
We will be building the start of our first Community Farm during this class.
