Kids Make A Difference

Authentic musical performances, guest speakers, ecological artists, innovative
environmental demonstrations, non-profit organizations, yoga, biodegradable & sustainable solutions, products and services, alternative energy, healing arts, primitive skills & living by example workshops, organic food & beverages, a free bio-diesel shuttle, composting, water conservation, and native planting for all ages and all cultures.

The Proceeds & Our Commitment continue to promote respect, kindness, and harmony for our environment, cultural, and humanitarian projects for local and worldwide communities. 60% of the proceeds are donated to environmental awareness, preservation, and survival programs. In 2009 Topanga Earth Day contributed to International Causes; Earth Justice and Sea Shepherd and to Local Causes; the California Wildlife Center and the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains: Turtle Project. In 2010 the Local Beneficiaries were: Common Peace and Topanga Community Food Garden & Fruit Trees at the Topanga Community Club. The International Beneficiaries were: Trees For The Future and Woman's Earth Alliance 501C-3 Not For Profit Organizations. In 2011 Topanga Earth Day donated to international 501C-3 Sea Shepherd, and Doctors Without Borders, and to local 50C-3: Topanga Community Club.

Recycling and Biodegradable Composting in collaboration with Universal Waste, and local volunteers dedicated to creating a successful 90% waste free event. All Vendors use biodegradable cups, spoons, forks, knives, garbage bags, napkins, & plates that are made from sugar cane, banana leaf, and corn. In 2011 we successfully sorted through all recycling & trash, with a result of 1.5 tons of compost, 2 tons of recycling and 16 bags of 64gallon size trash. The final result was 16 bags of garbage at the end of a two-day festival.

Organizations who join us: Label GMO’s, Sea Shepherd, PETA, OURFS, Habitat for Humanity, Love and Haiti Project, GreenPeace, Rain Catcher, World Wild Life Foundation, KFESA, Topanga Watershed, Topanga Peace Alliance, ALF, Ammachi Foundation, California Wildlife Center, Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains (host a massive local Creek & Beach Clean Up (a tradition since the year 2000), and many more.

    Well, I went on Saturday and almost all the food being sold there was vegan or vegetarian, but there was one vendor selling pepperoni pizza and it was real pepperoni, not veggie pepperoni. I asked them about it.
