Gain: 1k ft in 1 mile, flat 0.4 mile, 500ft in 0.4 mile. Then drop 1.1k ft in 1 mile, tame 1.6 mile to the waterfall.
Time: 5+ hours
Lets do this before the crowd hits the trail and tramples all over this seldom used trail starting on April 13. And before the summer months, when it can get pretty hot and rattlesnakes decide to come out.
Starting from the Fish Canyon trailhead, the trail is flat along the stable before the steep incline for the next mile without much shade. Then it flattens out for about 0.4 mile until you reach the chain-linked fence bordering the quarry. There we pickup the fire road and make our last steep ascent for about 500ft in 0.4 of a mile to the top. From there we will start heading down a steep descent and shaded trail into Fish Canyon. After we got to the bottom, the remaining 1.6 miles to the waterfall is tame.
