Hiking Ski Hut Trail (option to continue to Mt. Baldy)

Note: Above photo is the trailhead where we'll meet. It is                   where Mt.Baldy Rd meets Falls Rd.

7:30 AM take off from the Manker Flats trailhead. WE WILL JOIN UP WITH OUR FRIENDS FROM THE CHINESE-AMERICAN HIKING GROUP HERE.  These are very nice people but they won't waste time waiting for late arrival.

Hike from Manker Flats trailhead (6160') through San Antonio Falls and continue to the Sierra Club Ski Hut (8,300 ').

If you end at the Ski Hut, your round trip is 5.6 miles, with 2,140' gain, and the route is about Moderate.

Those who are ready for more challenges can continue to hike to Mt. Baldy Peak (10,064'). The Baldy Peak is the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains and borders the San Bernardino Mountains.

If you continue to Baldy Peak and back the same route, the rout is about 9 miles, with 3,900' gain =  and it is considered Strenuous.

Other important info:

Carpool at REI Arcade.  We will take off 6:30 sharp so give yourself plenty of time to get there.

National Forest Adventure Pass is required to park.

Bring enough water, sun block, hat, food, and 10 essentials and trekking poles. Put on your best hiking boots.

Hello everyone. The map link above may not be accurate so please set your GPS to intersection of Mt. Baldy Rd and Falls Rd in Mt Baldy. Also, I don't plan to drop by REI Arcadia unless you call me[masked] or leave a timely message here that you want to carpool.
