Looks like we're going to have a big group for today's hike. Try to carpool if you can, as parking spaces are limited around the trailhead. Bring water, snacks, light jacket and flashlight. See you at the hike!

Hi, I'll be joining you guys on this hike but I might be 10 mins behind schedule. Would you or someone else be able to drop me a msg on my cell @ (310)[masked] when you're about to start? Feel free to start w/o me, bit if someone could call to let me know when you're heading out, that'd be great. Thanks.

I do this hike a couple of times a week as it's just a couple of miles from me. I usually start at the Paseo Miramar trailhead but I'll join in for today starting from the Los Liones entry.

Sorry guys, I was hit by the flu two days ago. I was hoping to have my full energy back but it hasn't happened. So have to cancel my attendance. Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a fun hike!

    February 9, 2013

    • Barry S

Yes, but no matter how hard I try, I'm not catching their cold or flu! Darn being healthy! :-(

      February 12, 2013

    • Rachel C

It is kind of embarrassing... I thought the hike would take place last weekend. Just realized it is tomorrow! I have recovered from the flu. So see you guys tomorrow!

I am agree with Jiani that Beware with Asian Night out Organizer " Jeffrey " Pls Do not join His Activities!!!. LOL.

    1 · February 15, 2013

  • Jing-Ni

SGV/Alhambra carpool is full. We need more volunteer drivers from SGV.

    February 15, 2013

  • Jiani

Beware! Someone named Jeffrey is monitoring this Meetup and trying to recruit your new members. I have received numerous messages from him asking me to join Asian Night Out instead. I have heard tales about Jeffrey and a lot of ppl hate this guy. He should seek professional help. Please caution Kin about Jeffrey also

    1 · February 14, 2013

You post some of the most interesting/entertaining messages Jiani :)

      1 · February 15, 2013

    • Jiani

Lol no, I'm just really creeped out & annoyed by that guy Jeffrey. He's very anal retentive about new members posting a "clear, close-up and non-confusing" photo, but he exempts himself by posting his 1 profile pic that looks like it was taken back in the early 1970s that's confusing and misleading in and of itself. He kicks out and bans a lot of people too. It makes him feel superior I guess. Or maybe it's how he copes for being kicked out and banned from this meetup a couple years ago which is I heard justified and for good reason. But he still browses here & copies events, and also looks at new members to recruit them. Kin is a nice guy, but he's not aware that Jeffrey is a hypocrite nut. Jeffrey hosts butt-loads of copied events from other meetups too. But anyway, excuse my rant. I just wanted to caution the good organizers and members here because I've heard a lot of good things about this group and I think it has some of the best organizers and they should know what's up. Cheers.

Looks like I missed the sign-up window by 30 minutes, ugh! Anyway, I'm in West LA and would love to join you guys on Saturday. Is that alright?

    February 14, 2013

    • Jing-Ni

Alan, hope you feel better soon! Take as much Vick & oranges as you want...or should I ask Sing to take you swimming? that will help enhance your immune system to cure your cold :)

      February 14, 2013

    • Alan

Would you carry me if i can't make it Jing-Ni?

      February 14, 2013

  • Maximilian

Anybody know if this hike is dog-friendly?

    1 · February 12, 2013

    • Jing-Ni

When i was there last month, saw a sign at the trailhead that dog's not allowed on Los Liones trail, sorry about that...

    Hey guys!
Any health care workers in this group? You guys are joking about the flu right?
Most people that say they got the flu, they do not. The Flu is a very serious respiratory infection that will affect the rest of your organs including the heart. So if you have the flu, do not stress your heart as you may die--as in hiking. You may need hospitalization if it is serious. btw, we now have real anti viral meds that will work on certain strains of flu so if you really got one, get it asap. (Not anti biotic, it's anti viral!)

@Barry, I'll be in Pasadena or LA that day so I won't be coming from OC. Thanks for the carpool message though!

    February 12, 2013

  • Jing-Ni

Wow lot of talks about flu... I hope everyone's in a good shape and ready for Saturday's hike :)
So is there anyone else coming from OC, and would like to carpool besides the people that I've already contacted?
Carpool from SGV, please let me know soon as possible if you want to meet and carpool from Alhambra.

    February 11, 2013

    • Alan

Wouldn't it be be wonderful if everyone has a flu and go on the hike? Just imagine that..
