Henninger Flats -> Idlehour Camp -> Inspiration Point (13.5 miles & 4100ft)

Some of you have probably hiked portions of this route.  But never tried going from Mt. Wilson Toll Road all the way to Cobb Estate through Henninger Flats, Idlehour Camp and Inspiration Point.  This hike is mostly aimed for those who are planning to do some backpacking later on, but all others who think they can handle the hike are welcome to join.  But please, be aware that if you start and you can't keep up, you will be asked to turn around on your own.  Please understand that this is a long hike by itself going at a moderate pace...

We will be shuttling for this hike... that means, we will meet at the front of the gate to Cobb Estate, then a few of us will shuttle to Mt Wilson Toll Road - 2275 Pinecrest Drive, Altadena, CA leaving a few cars behind.  Our hike will end at the gate in front of Cobb Estate and we will ask those who left their cars behind to shuttle those who left their cars at Mt Wilson Toll Road trailhead.

We will start at the entrance to the trailhead at Mt. Wilson Toll Road at Pinecrest Drive, Altadena and head up to Henninger Flats.  Then we will continue ahead on the toll road and turn left on a little bridge and get off the toll road to the hiking trail to Idlehour Campground.

    Great conditioning hike! Even my cheeks are sore. But think that's from chewing one to many beef jerky.

      Get to Cobb Estate as listed above, then we will shuttle to the trail head not far from it. Hike back to Cobb Estate, then those who still have the cars left at Cobb Estate will need to help and drive those who drove in the morning to the trail head to recover their cars. That should do it.

    Really? Alan? Are we going to the Himalayas by year end?

    Are there any stream crossings along the way? I'm thinking about bringing my water filter to cut down on the weight.
