What better way to celebrate than a...
Bonfire on the Beach!
We will be hosting a bonfire and BBQ on Dockweiler State Beach the day before Memorial Day. It's one of the best things to do with friends: we can make some smores, have good conversation, and watch the sun go down. 
Even with more than 70 miles of sun-kissed beaches, Los Angeles County seems to hold a grudge against bonfires. Only Playa del Rey’s Dockweiler Beach allows open flames. The good news: this 3-mile slice of coast is among the most scenic stretches of sand, explaining why it’s been a favored filming location for the silver screen. The 67 fire rings scattered along the shoreline are always abuzz with activity. Stake out a pit early, work up some punchy flames, and watch as hang gliders soar overhead, surfers carve up the beachbreak, and jumbo jets fly thrillingly low on their way in and out of adjacent LAX. After gorging on s’mores, kick back and wait for the stars to begin glinting as the fiery sunset fades to black. It’s nature’s way of easing sugary indigestion.

Other than food, please remember to bring chairs and towels.
There are tables, showers, and restrooms on site.
Alcohol is not permitted at the beach. Please plan accordingly.
Please note that BBQ Grills are not allowed! I have heard they ticket you, so do not bring uncooked meats.
The Beach will close at 10pm.

There is a bike and skate rental area with a great bike path.
Swimming?
Beach football?
Sun tanning?
Parking Info
Parking is $8 to park right next to the beach. If you get there early, you can find street parking on Vista Del Mar for free.
