Seattle Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Doodle Romps Monthly Meetup

  • Jan 12, 2013 · 11:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Meetup begins at 11:00 AM in Magnuson Park, in the area behind the small dog enclosure. When entering through the main entrance, walk across the bridge and turn right. We often go down to the water after playing on the field--especially if it is a hot day. Due to other obligations (or just sleeping in), the 11:00 AM group may be quite small. Please don't despair--We generally have 18-35 dogs over the course of the next hour and a half--just not all at once. If you arrive a little late and we're not on the field, we're probably down by the water. To get there, go back past the bridge (don't cross it) and follow the trail for about 1/2 mile down to the water.

Not good for puppies or smaller doodles. Large doodles immediately started pinning down our puppies who rolled on their backs and were in a short manner caked in mud. Was not a good experience for any of us. Maybe again when they are adults.

Ahimsa in Ballard has organized puppy play on Saturdays and Sundays for up to 5 months old. It's great - they limit the # of puppies and have at least one trainer monitoring the play. They also have teen play on Wed nites for 5-12 months, which Pink loves.

That's a great idea! And we have them as well on the east side called "Get Along Little Doggies" at Puppy Manners as well.

Maybe a mini doodle/ puppy doodle meetup? :)

Oh that sounds fun! We have a mini that is also a puppy! I think we aren't supposed to have her around other dogs until 4 months? Anyone heard of this? Because of parvo etc

You can't bring your puppy until it's had all it shots, which is around 4 months. But I wouldn't bring a puppy until at least 5 months and has already been well-socialized with other puppies and/or dogs. It can be rough and tumble at the dog park so you have keep a good eye on your puppy and move him/her out of situations where they might get intimidated or fearful. As for the mud...well, it's just part of the dog park experience :-)

I have a cockapoo who is full of energy. Could I bring him?

Also is this park completely enclosed? I don't want him running into the parking lot. He does a pretty good job of staying by me, but gets really excited sometimes. Thank you.

Sure! you are welcome to come! The bark is inclosed and even has what I call an air lock gate in that you have to go through 2 gates to get in, that way if your dog slips past gate one, you still have your furbaby!

There is a small dog only area if the play is not a good match.
