What we’re about
Whether building a web, VOIP, or gaming backend, Operations is using development tools to make it work.
We're interested in the built-in facilities in Linux and the BSDs to programmatically seed and deploy. We're building traditional UNIX infrastructure with lighttpd/Nginx/Apache, Syslog, NFS, LDAP, MySQL/Postgres and BIND/PowerDNS, but doing it with modern scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Perl...) and revision-control. Debconf in Debian and Ubuntu. Kickstart in Redhat and CentOS. pc-sysinstall on BSD. A mix of cloud, hosted and datacenter-minded folks. Expect musings on Puppet, Chef, Augeas, Fabric, CFEngine, and FAI.

Pulumi: Infrastructure as Code, Presented by Engin Diri
Let’s talk Pulumi: An infrastructure-as-code platform that allows you to use familiar programming languages (and YAML!) to provision modern cloud infrastructure.
In a live demo, I will demonstrate the capabilities of Pulum. Additionally, we will discuss advanced use cases for Pulumi, showcasing its versatility and power in infrastructure automation.
About Engin Diri,
Engin is a Customer Experience Architect at Pulumi and has been in the IT industry for over 15 years. He started as a Java backend developer and later migrated to the fronted development.
This is where he found his passion for CI/CD, Cloud technologies and in particular Kubernetes. Engin is a very curious person and loves learning and testing new technologies.Akuity: Deploying to Kubernetes with ArgoCD, Presented by Christian Hernandez
Kubernetes has changed the way we deploy and manage our applications. While companies are still adopting Kubernetes and cloud-native; others are just beginning their journey. Still, those who are thinking about adopting Kubernetes and those who are already running it run into the same problem. They manage a declarative platform like Kuberentes, imperatively. In this talk we will go through GitOps, the defacto Cloud Native operating model, and how you can effectively use Argo CD to achieve this.
About Christian Hernandez:
Christian is a well rounded technologist with experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, enterprise architecture, tech support, advocacy, and product management. Passionate about OpenSource and containerizing the world one application at a time. He is currently a maintainer of the OpenGitOps project, a maintainer of the Argo Project, and currently works as Head of Community at Akuity. He focuses on GitOps practices, DevOps, Kubernetes, and Containers.Join the LA DevOps Discord Channel...
