My shyness prevents me from searching out people like myself, here where I am admittedly out of my comfort zone, but I could get down with coming to a group of you total strangers for the stated purpose of shamelessly trying to bond with like-minded weirdos.
Yes, you have it spot-on. I have been working in the oilfield lately (certainly not trade of choice, but I can make my wife proud of me with paychecks and insurance), and I am amazed how many people portray the uncanny xenophobe in a group, but confide to me only in private that they are, in fact, an individual with individual thoughts and opinions.
In large group discussions at work, I often have some other urgent business spring up within moments of the gathering.
I just started a non-fiction book club on meet-up. check it out
Gotta Love it! And my picture is seasonal of someone eating King Cake and a baby too!
Looking forward to meeting free thinkers....in whatever forum it presents itself.
I am a sextagenarian and hopefully a few other elders attend otherwise I may be a minority here.
TYVM for the welcome. I would like to attend the May 20th meeting a lot!!! I'll RSVP on May 13th. :-))
Hey thanks for the welcome.
